Once a textbook becomes available as an ebook, as long as it's in the correct file format (most common being .epub or .pdf) you should have no problem downloading it.

You can copy PDFs and ePUBs to your nook via USB. You can also download textbooks from Google eBooks, or for a fee from B&N online.
